Background
EdBetter Limited (“EdBetter”, “we”, “us” or “our”) owns and operates certain websites, mobile applications, games and related services, including Kemistri, Kromosome, 8K8tris and KraftyK8 Saga and other applications published by EdBetter Limited (together, the “EdBetter Applications and Services”).
Our applications include educational applications, games and other mobile experiences.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use the EdBetter Applications and Services, how that information is used, the third-party services we use, and the choices available to you.
By downloading, installing or using an EdBetter Application or Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at kapil@siddbetter.com.
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, information such as device identifiers, approximate location, app activity and diagnostic information may constitute personal data or personal information under applicable privacy laws even where it does not directly identify you by name.
1. Information We Collect

in order to play or use our current applications.
If you contact us directly, for example by email, we will receive the information contained in your communication and use it to respond to your enquiry.
Information Collected Automatically
Although we do not generally require users to provide direct identifying information, some EdBetter applications use third-party services such as Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
These services may automatically collect technical, usage and diagnostic information.
Depending on the application and the services enabled, this may include:

Approximate Location
Some of our applications use Firebase Analytics, which may derive approximate geographic information from technical information associated with a device or internet connection.
This may include information such as country, region or city.
We do not use Firebase Analytics to obtain your precise GPS location.
App Activity
We may use analytics events to understand how our applications are used.
Depending on the application, this may include events such as:
- starting or completing a level;
- interacting with a lesson or activity;
- answering a quiz;

- other gameplay or educational interactions.
We use this information to evaluate engagement, improve our applications and design future features.
2. Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics
Firebase Analytics
EdBetter uses Google Analytics for Firebase in some applications to understand how users interact with our applications.
Firebase Analytics may collect information such as app interactions, sessions, approximate geography, device information, app-instance identifiers and other usage information.
We use this information to:
- understand how our applications are used;
- measure engagement;
- understand progression through games or educational activities;
- identify features that are useful or difficult to use;
- improve user experience;
- evaluate application performance; and
- plan future improvements and releases.
Firebase Crashlytics
EdBetter uses Firebase Crashlytics in some applications to identify and diagnose crashes and technical problems.
Crashlytics may collect information including:
- crash stack traces;
- relevant application state;
- relevant device metadata;
- app version information;
- Crashlytics installation identifiers; and
- diagnostic information associated with crashes or application errors.
We use this information to monitor application stability, investigate technical problems, fix bugs and improve application performance.
3. Advertising
Some EdBetter applications may display advertising using advertising services such as Google AdMob.
Where advertising is enabled, the advertising SDK may process information required to request, deliver, measure and protect advertisements.
Depending on the user’s device, privacy choices, geographic region and the configuration of the application, this may include:
- device information;
- IP-derived approximate location;
- advertising or device identifiers where permitted;
- ad impressions;
- ad interactions;
- diagnostic information; and
- other technical information associated with advertising.
EdBetter does not sell users’ personal information to advertisers.
Advertising providers may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable consent and platform requirements.
Where required by law or platform rules, personalised advertising may be limited or disabled.
Where an EdBetter application is directed to children or includes children within its declared target audience, advertising is configured in accordance with applicable child-directed treatment requirements and relevant app-store policies.
4. In-App Purchases and Payment Information
Some EdBetter applications may offer in-app purchases, subscriptions, virtual items or other paid features.
Payments made through platforms such as Google Play or the Apple App Store are processed by the relevant platform or payment provider.
EdBetter does not normally receive or store full payment-card information.
We may receive transaction-related information from the platform that is necessary to confirm purchases, restore purchases, manage entitlements or understand purchase activity.
Payment providers process payment information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
5. Google Play Services, Achievements and Leaderboards
Some EdBetter applications may use features provided through Google Play Games Services, such as achievements or leaderboards.
Where a user chooses to use such services, information is handled by Google in accordance with Google’s applicable privacy policies and account settings.
EdBetter does not independently collect a user’s Google Account password or authentication credentials.
6. Social Networks
Our current applications do not generally require users to sign in using Facebook or another social network.
If we introduce social-network login or social features in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate and the relevant social network’s privacy terms may also apply.
7. How We Use Information
We may use information collected through our applications for purposes including:
- operating and maintaining our applications;
- understanding how users interact with applications;
- measuring engagement and progression;
- improving educational activities and gameplay;
- improving user-interface design;
- monitoring application stability and performance;
- detecting and diagnosing crashes;
- fixing bugs and technical problems;
- maintaining security and preventing abuse;
- providing and measuring advertisements where applicable;
- confirming or restoring purchases where applicable;
- developing new features and applications; and
- complying with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use information collected through our applications to make medical, employment, credit or other similarly significant decisions about users.
8. Educational and Health-Related Content
Some EdBetter applications, including Kromosome, contain educational material relating to biology, anatomy, physiology and health-related topics.
For example, applications may teach users about subjects such as the circulatory system, blood pressure, oxygen, glucose or diabetes.
The fact that a user interacts with educational content concerning a health topic does not mean that EdBetter collects the user’s own medical records, diagnosis, blood pressure, blood glucose level or other personal health measurements unless an application specifically states otherwise.
Our current applications do not require users to enter personal medical information for these educational activities.
Educational content provided through our applications is intended for learning purposes and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
9. Sharing and Third-Party Service Providers
EdBetter uses service providers that process information on our behalf in order to provide functions such as analytics, crash reporting, advertising and payment processing.
These may include, depending on the application:
- Google Firebase / Google Analytics for analytics;
- Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting and diagnostics;
- Google AdMob for advertising where advertising is enabled;
- Google Play for Android purchases and platform services; and
- Apple for iOS purchases and platform services.
Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, legal proceedings or lawful requests;
- protect EdBetter, our users or others;
- investigate fraud, misuse or security incidents; or
- enforce applicable terms and policies.
10. Sale, Merger or Business Transition
If EdBetter undergoes a business transition such as a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of all or part of its assets, information associated with the EdBetter Applications and Services may form part of that transaction.
Where required by applicable law, users will be informed of material changes affecting how their information is handled.
11. Children’s Privacy
EdBetter publishes educational applications and games that may appeal to users of different ages.
We do not require users of our current applications to provide their name, email address, telephone number or other direct account information in order to use the applications.
Where an application is directed to children, or where children are included in the application’s declared target audience, we take steps to comply with applicable children’s privacy requirements and relevant app-store policies.
This may include restricting personalised advertising and configuring third-party services appropriately for child-directed use where required.
Parents or guardians who have questions concerning privacy in an EdBetter application may contact us at kapil@siddbetter.com.
12. Security
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information handled through our applications against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
Services such as Firebase transmit collected information using encrypted network connections such as HTTPS.
However, no internet transmission, software system or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, subject to legal, operational and security requirements.
Data collected through Firebase Analytics is retained according to the retention settings configured for the relevant Analytics property and Google’s applicable policies.
Crash and diagnostic information collected through Firebase Crashlytics is retained according to Firebase’s applicable retention practices.
Information processed by advertising, payment or platform providers may be retained in accordance with those providers’ applicable policies.
14. Data Deletion and Privacy Requests
Our current applications do not generally create EdBetter user accounts, so there is ordinarily no EdBetter account profile for a user to delete.
If you have a privacy question, believe information relating to you has been collected, or wish to make a request concerning information that EdBetter can reasonably identify and control, please contact:
Because analytics and diagnostic data may be associated with installation or device identifiers rather than a user’s name or email address, we may not always be able to identify a particular individual’s historical analytics data from an email request alone.
Requests will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy law and the capabilities of the relevant service providers.
15. Your Choices
Your device, operating system and applicable consent mechanisms may provide controls relating to privacy, advertising and identifiers.
Depending on your device and region, these may include controls to:
- limit or reset advertising identifiers;
- restrict personalised advertising;
- manage application permissions; or
- manage privacy or consent settings made available by Google, Apple or other service providers.
Disabling certain device or privacy features may affect some application functionality or advertising behaviour.
16. Cookies and Websites
EdBetter websites may use cookies or similar technologies.
Browser settings may allow users to block or remove cookies. Some website features may not work correctly where cookies are disabled.
Mobile applications generally use SDKs, device identifiers or other mobile technologies rather than traditional browser cookies.
17. External Links and Advertisers
EdBetter applications or websites may contain advertisements or links to websites, applications or services operated by third parties.
EdBetter is not responsible for the privacy practices, security or content of third-party websites or services.
Users should review the relevant third party’s privacy policy before providing information to those services.
18. International Data Processing
Third-party service providers used by EdBetter, including Google and Firebase, may process information using infrastructure located in countries other than the user’s country of residence.
Where required, such processing is subject to applicable legal and contractual safeguards.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our applications, technologies, service providers, legal obligations or privacy practices.
Where material changes are made, we will update the Last modified date at the beginning of this policy and take any additional steps required by applicable law or platform requirements.
Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
